What we set up
From our price list: Intune: devices enrolled, encryption and updates enforced and apps deployed, with a pilot group first.
- Devices enrolledWindows laptops through Autopilot, and Macs, iPhones and Android phones through Intune, with a pilot group first.
- Encryption and updates enforcedDisk encryption on, update rings set, and devices that fall behind flagged.
- Apps deployedMicrosoft 365 apps and your core business apps installed from Intune, not by hand on each laptop.
- Handover notes and a short sessionFor whoever looks after it afterwards, whether that is your team or ours.
What you need first
Three things, all from Microsoft's own requirements.
- A licence that includes Intune and Entra ID P1Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscribers are licensed to use full Intune capabilities, and Entra ID P1 is included.
- Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise or Education for AutopilotMicrosoft lists the supported editions. Windows Home is not on the list.
- Licences assigned to the people who enrol devicesMicrosoft's requirements say licences still need to be assigned to users so they can enrol devices in Intune.
On Business Standard or Basic? Intune needs a qualifying licence. We quote the Business Premium upgrade with the rollout, and our guide compares the Business plans.
Staff use their own phones? The form asks, and the written plan says what is enrolled and what is re-provisioned.
How it fits Cyber Essentials
Cyber Essentials needs supported, patched devices, a PIN, password or biometric to unlock them, and MFA on cloud services, as its requirements set out. Intune can enforce the device side across every enrolled laptop and phone.
Our requirements guide maps the controls to Microsoft 365 Business Premium, and the security checklist covers device management with Intune.
How it works
Five steps, with a pilot group before anything is rolled out widely.
The form. How many laptops and phones, what they run, and whether staff use their own.
Written quote. The fixed price, the licence you need and the plan for any re-provisioning, agreed before anything changes.
A pilot group. A handful of devices enrol first. Policies are checked against real work before the rest follow.
The rollout. Remaining devices enrolled in batches. New laptops registered with Autopilot set themselves up when staff first sign in.
Handover. Notes and a short session, so your team or ours can manage devices afterwards.
After the rollout
On our Secure plan, laptops and phones stay managed with Intune every month. Secure is £55 per user a month, excluding VAT, with a £250 monthly minimum. See IT support.
Moving to Microsoft 365 at the same time? A fixed-price migration and the Intune rollout can run as one project.
